ELA announces a new product line connected by Wirepas Mesh

ELA Innovation introduces a new product line, leveraging the wide portfolio of ruggedized tags with Wirepas Mesh connectivity to address large-scale asset management applications. Wirepas Mesh is available on ELA’s harsh industrial environment tags utilizing standard 2.4 GHz radio hardware.

With Wirepas Positioning Engine, ELA tags are perfect a fit for various asset management use cases such as inventory management, location services and for people and asset tracking. Introducing Wirepas Mesh enables ELA innovation to offer products and solutions to industrial deployments where scale, density and infrastructure costs are the key performance indicators.

ELA Innovation is one of the leading companies in the development of industrial wireless sensors and beacons, based upon a wide range of long range technologies like Active RFID and Bluetooth Low Energy technologies. ELA Innovation offers a wide range of miniaturized readers and tags featuring ultra-low power consumption and extended battery life that meet the requirements of numerous applications.

  • Asset management & tracking is one of the most fragmented IoT application areas. The use cases differ considerably in terms of technical and business case requirements. That’s why it is crucial that we are able to offer fit-for-purpose solutions to end users. This is exactly what our partnership with ELA Innovation is about – Providing easy-to-deploy asset management solutions for industrial-scale deployments with high reliability requirements, summarizes Teppo Hemiä, Wirepas CEO.

Wirepas Mesh is a de-centralized radio communications protocol for devices. The protocol software can be used in any device, with any radio chipset, and on any radio frequency band. Building on the unique capabilities of Wirepas Mesh to connect things at scale, Wirepas Positioning Engine enables identification and locating of assets within a low-energy Wirepas Mesh network. Uniquely the entire location infrastructure is powered by battery operated devices – ideal for locations where no mains power is available, or the cost of infrastructure installation would otherwise be cost prohibitive.
