Wirepas Oy and its group companies (together “Wirepas”) are committed to protecting the privacy of persons whose personal data Wirepas processes, for example when a person visits Wirepas web pages or is in contact with Wirepas. Any personal data provided to Wirepas is processed pursuant to the following guidelines.
What are the legal bases for processing personal data?
Wirepas may process personal data related to its customers, web-site users and other stakeholders (such as representatives of suppliers and other co-operation partners) only pursuant to the applicable data protection legislation, including lawful purposes relating to marketing and recruitment. Depending on the circumstances, processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject, processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Wirepas or a third party, or for the performance of a contract, or is based on your consent.

Wirepas may process personal data for following purposes:

For how long does Wirepas process personal data?
Your data is stored for the duration of your use of the services provided by Wirepas and as long as your account is valid, and thereafter the applicable period for limitation of legal claims, and any additional periods required or permitted under applicable law, such as license management purposes. We take every reasonable step to ensure that your personal data is only processed for the minimum period necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
What are the sources of personal data?
Personal data is primarily collected directly from the data subject when the data subject and Wirepas are in contact with each other or during the course of Wirepas’ business activities. Subject to the limitations of the applicable law, personal data can be supplemented from other registers of Wirepas as well as from other public sources of information (such as trade registers, corporate websites and social media) or private sources of information (such as commercial databases) and from partners of Wirepas.
Who are the recipients of personal data?
Wirepas does not sell personal data to third parties. On behalf of Wirepas, personal data may be processed by trusted service providers with whom Wirepas has made appropriate agreements to ensure compliance with applicable data protection legislation. Such service providers include, for example, IT service providers, marketing service providers, and providers of legal services. Additionally, personal data may be disclosed in connection with a corporate arrangement or when a service provided by Wirepas is transferred to a third party; to authorities and courts upon their order; and for the collection of payments to debt collection service providers. Also, Wirepas may for its own business purposes and subject to the limitations of the applicable law, transfer such personal data to third parties to the extent such transfers are reasonably necessary for the business purposes of Wirepas. As an example, Wirepas may organize a customer or training event together with a co-operation partner and based on legitimate interests exchange personal data for the purpose of managing attendee contact information. Such a co-operation partner is responsible for processing of personal data for its own part.
Does Wirepas transfer personal data to third countries?
Given the nature of Wirepas’s business, processing information for the above purposes may involve a cross-border transfer of the information provided to Wirepas. Any cross-border transfer of the information including any transfers outside the EU/EEA will be carried out in strict compliance with the applicable law to ensure protection of your privacy.

Withdrawal of consent is possible easily and at any time by contacting us or by clicking the cancelling option which can be found in every marketing message. Furthermore, subject to the limitations of the applicable law, for representatives of corporate customers or potential customers, or customers who have obtained a Wirepas Mesh product or service, Wirepas may send such news and information without a consent. You may opt-out of receiving such news and information at any time.
How does Wirepas protect personal data?
Wirepas will keep your information secure by taking appropriate technical and organisational measures against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against its accidental loss, destruction or damage. Wirepas will do our best to protect your personal data, but we cannot guarantee the security of your information which is transmitted to our website, applications or services or to other website, applications and services via an internet or similar connection.

Wirepas does not engage in any kind of automated individual decision-making. Please note that by sending your personal data to Wirepas or by downloading any available on website of Wirepas you are explicitly acknowledging the processing and transfer of such information in the way and for the purposes mentioned above.
