Valpas and Wirepas let you travel carefree from bed bugs

Valpas, a Finnish design and technology company, and Wirepas have partnered to create the first and only solution for happier travel without bed bugs. Valpas has designed a smart bed leg-set for premium hotels that eliminates bed bugs from doing any harm to their guests and rooms. The smart bed leg includes an integrated trap bugs cannot escape, and sensors that detect bugs inside the trap.

Installation is ‘plug n play’ – hotels simply screw the bed legs in and switch them on. Wirepas Mesh connects all bed legs in a hotel and sends real-time room status and notifications of prevented incidents to the Valpas web app via a single gateway. With Valpas, the hotel is fully protected and can see the situation inside rooms live, automatically and naturally.

“We work with Wirepas Mesh for two reasons. First, their network is easy to set up and reliable. Second, it works well even in challenging and varying conditions like hotels, which are all unique. We wanted a solution that could be applied to the world where our customers operate in. In Wirepas we found that.”, says Martim Gois, Valpas CEO.

Valpas advances happier travel by letting people explore the world carefree from bed bugs. People do it by choosing Valpas Collaborator hotels for their stay at Valpas.io. It enables hotels to take best care of today’s hotel guests and make sure their quality of service is aligned with their brand promise.

In addition to personalizing the hotel experience to the needs of the modern guest, the solution increases Revenue per available room ja Net Promoter Score and the hotel’s reputation, as well as streamlines housekeeping operations. Valpas can already be found at some of the best hotels in the Nordics.

“This is exactly what makes IoT so exciting – Innovative solutions to old problems enabled by new technologies and companies joining forces. There is a smart rush to buildings, and this is great example of new digital services arriving to areas where scalable and future proven connectivity is required in a crowded radio environment.”  says Wirepas CEO, Teppo Hemiä.
